Area Guide
Epping sits just over the London boundary in Essex, covering CM16 and CM17, with IG7 and IG10 on the fringe towards Chigwell and Loughton. It is a genuinely different job from a London move: fewer controlled parking zones, more standalone houses, but longer approach roads and, in places, a proper country lane to navigate a van down.
The town itself sits around Epping High Street, a mix of period cottages, converted flats above shops and newer housing on the approach roads. Epping station is the real landmark, it is the Central line terminus, so a lot of our clients here are commuters moving somewhere with a direct line into the City. Around North Weald the housing is newer, built-estate stock, easier for a van but still worth confirming access on. Further out, Theydon Bois has its own village character, and we regularly move people between Epping and the neighbouring villages of Ongar, Buckhurst Hill and Waltham Abbey, right on the edge of Epping Forest.
Getting Around
For the crew, the M11 at junction 7 and the A121 are the main approach routes, so timing a move around the motorway rather than the London road network is a different kind of planning to a city job. Whether you are moving into a High Street flat, a village cottage, or a family house on one of the newer estates, the same fixed-price, fully insured service applies.
The Epping Differentiator
Epping is a different parking job to inner London. There is far less blanket controlled parking, but the High Street is narrow and busy, and loading directly outside a flat above a shop still needs planning rather than luck. Where a suspension or a permit is needed for a CM16 flat, that is handled through Epping Forest District Council and the North Essex Parking Partnership, and we tell you exactly what to apply for and when.
The newer estates around North Weald and the edges of Epping are generally easier, wider roads and proper parking, but shared driveways and estate access roads still benefit from a quick check before the van turns up. Period cottages on the High Street and in the villages are the opposite case, narrow frontages, on-street parking only, and sometimes no realistic way to park directly outside at all.
We check the access at both ends before moving day, whichever type of Epping property you are in, so the crew, the van size and the timing all fit the street rather than fighting it.
